COPE Campaigns
We are working on several campaigns and public education. Get informed, get involved. Our working conditions and our students’ learning conditions are often significantly impacted by our Board of Trustees and by state-wide measures and legislation. Below are current issues.
2024 El Camino College Board of Trustees
In November 2024, three of the five El Camino College BOT seats are up. The BOT set the agenda for El Camino College, from hiring and firing the President to setting the guidelines for the budget. They matter and we urge you to help us elect the best trustees possible in the November election. More information on the BOT can be found here.
Our committee endorsements are,
AREA 1- Brett Roberts
AREA 3-Trisha Murakawa
AREA 4-Nyree Berry
As a reminder, the AFT 1388 COPE is a voluntary committee not funded by regular AFT 1388 member dues. We encourage AFT 1388 members to research the above candidates. As we saw in the last round of negotiations, who our bosses bosses are matter. In order to support other educators and public employees, you can find candidates in the below voter guides. Please spread the word and help turn out friends, family, and neighbors to vote in these races.
